The UK edition has a different cover to the USA release. |
As well as having a completely different cover than the Criterion Collection release, the bonus material is also not the same.
Second Sight approached award-winning design studio La Boca to illustrate a new poster for the release of the film’s new restoration. Second Sight’s Managing Director Chris Holden said:
‘We love La Boca’s work and knew they would be the people to create something special for this iconic film’

It might have been nice if someone at La Boca knew what The Beatles looked like.
Totally. That's not Ringo!
Oh dear, that's a dreadful cover!
So anyone could tell if portuguese or brazilian portuguese subtitles are featured on any of these bluray releases? I've asked 2 or 3 times on this blog, but no one could help.
Thanks
Frighteningly BAD design! How can someone say yes to this cover? Looks like a horror movie to me.
I can't understand this cover design...
The US cover looks brilliant - contemporary, but still holding onto the original magic of the film.
The UK cover looks like a novelty Christmas Bauble.
As for subtitles: There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
As for this cover design: I don't like it, and I'm not to keen on the US cover, either. They call the film iconic, but there's nothing iconic about these cover designs, imho.
I was not thrilled with the US cover either, when I first saw it. But, the UK cover is so terrible, it's baffling! This has to be a situation where the wrong person is making the packaging decisions. If they wanted an artist's drawing of The Beatles, Shannon should have been called upon for the job. Hopefully there is still enough time for Second Sight to reconsider this ugly cover and find something better, which shouldn't be very hard..
There has been a change made to the UK cover. Essentially just a switch from colour to black & white, but a step in the right direction. Perhaps Second Sight are taking note of the grumbling.
